Big Sur and M1 Chips officially supported by Pioneer DJ Hardware

Pioneer DJ this morning announced a comprehensive list of DJ hardware that now officially supports Mac’s running the Big Sur operating system. The hardware supports Big Sur running on both traditional Intel processors and also Apple’s own new M1 chipset. This allows DJ’s to not only update existing laptops to the latest OS but purchase the new M1 models which boast incredible performance.

As expected most controllers and mixers require a firmware update for full compatibility. HID devices and controllers that use core audio drivers such as the DDJ-400 won’t require a firmware update. Rekordbox software requires updating to the latest version, currently 6.5.0 for full compatibility. Check your hardware on the below list and follow the link to driver download page if needed.

Algoriddim, Traktor and Virtual DJ have also announced full compatibility with Big Sur. Serato users will sadly need to hold off updating to the latest OS as officially testing isn’t yet complete.
