From playing in their bedrooms to landing festival slots and releasing on major labels, these students completely transformed their DJ careers thanks to Crossfader.
Here’s just a handful of our students who’ve had a huge boost in their DJing since joining Crossfader.
How Moonyean DJed the main stage at Rise Festival
Moonyean became completely obsessed with music after seeing Avicii live as a kid, eventually saving up for her own controller and building her skills until she was playing eight gigs a week in Australia. But when she moved to Europe, she lost all that momentum and went three full months without a single booking.
When she was learning to DJ, she was seriously struggling with information overload and found it nearly impossible to properly teach herself through random online tutorials.
She used our Complete DJ Package to cut through the noise and get some direction. With a clear, well-defined path and everything in one place, she could stop searching and focus on making real progress and refining her own style.
As a Crossfader student, she put those skills to the test by entering a competition we ran for a slot at Rise Festival, submitting a mix to prove what she could do.
Her mix won the competition, landing her straight onto the Rise Festival main stage to support Kettama. Seeing her on that big stage in front of a huge crowd proved her hard work paid off, and now she’s ticking venues off her bucket list and preparing to sign her first two original tracks to a label.
If you want to seriously back yourself and take the next big step in your DJ journey, check out our Complete DJ Package.
How Nat Jio landed a US DJing tour
When Nat Jio started out, she was a big snowboarder who wanted to mix music and play at the Après-ski parties she loved.
However, she spent her early days feeling lonely and lost because she didn’t have a mentor, a community, or a clear direction.
She used our structured beginner DJ courses as a roadmap to take the guesswork out of learning to DJ and develop her skills.
With those new skills, she had the technical confidence to obsessively perfect a submission mix to land a spot at the Aspen X Games weekend.
After using our courses to build her foundation, she went from a beginner to a five-month North American tour, playing for major brands like Burton Snowboards and Jägermeister just 15 months later.
You can take that first step in your DJ career by checking out our beginner DJ courses.
How The Main Course got to produce at Toolroom Studios
Martin was building solid local momentum playing open deck nights and throwing his own parties under his DJ name, The Main Course.
However, he knew that transitioning from a standard DJ into a true artist with his own unique signature sound required the next logical step: learning to produce his own original tracks.
He wanted to make music and understand how tracks are actually built, so he started using our DJ to Producer course to learn the skills and develop his workflow at his own pace.
That training put him in the perfect position to win one of our competitions, where he got the chance to do a collaborative session at the Toolroom studios with instructor Lewis John.
After taking our course and winning our competition, he says his tracks have gone from a “5 out of 10” to a “50 out of 10.”

How Naomi Went From Bedroom DJ To Tomorrowland Performer
Naomi was working full-time as a hairdresser in Belgium, but felt creatively unfulfilled until a trip to Ibiza inspired her to buy her first controller and start DJing
She spent her evenings trying to teach herself how to mix, but she quickly hit a wall with solo practice and felt frustrated by her mistakes.
She joined our House DJing course to replace the random practice with a structured roadmap and clear step-by-step guidance so she could really level up her skills.
That training gave her the confidence to start recording her sets and entering major DJ contests, which landed her a stage slot alongside Miss Monique.
After using our course to build her foundation, she entered a Tomorrowland competition. She placed second, but the organisers emailed her two weeks later to offer her a festival slot anyway because they were so impressed by her technical standard.

How Sabion Went On Tour With James Hype
Sabion wanted to learn how to mix after trying out a controller at a London event, but he had no prior connections or direction in the music industry.
During lockdown, he used our step-by-step courses to guide his daily practice sessions and master his mixing technique completely from scratch.
He spent five to six hours a day grinding his skills at home to make sure his transitions were completely smooth before he started trying to land live gigs.
With these rock-solid DJ skills in place, he was ready when he connected with James Hype’s circle through tour videography work and got the chance to show what he could do.
Impressed by Sabion’s mixes, James Hype asked him to step up and play the warm-up sets across an eight-date UK tour.
How Rob R Swapped Corporate Burnout for Viral DJ Success
Rob had tried many different paths in life, from the Army Reserves to investment banking, but he always felt like something was missing.
He bought some second-hand decks and started watching our Crossfader tutorials, which gave him those crucial core mixing skills to properly carve out his own sound and express himself.
After relocating to Sri Lanka to escape city burnout, he focused on showcasing his culture and setting himself apart by filming sets in markets and fields that went viral and racked up millions of views.
While his unique videos and business-like approach to pitching got his foot in the door, our courses gave him the skills to make his sets stand out and confidently mix a huge range of styles.
This commitment to learning helped him scale from 500 to 30,000 followers, secure paid gigs across Europe, and land a three-week tour of India.
How Ayeshia Built the Confidence to DJ Her Own Birthday Party
Ayeshia was approaching her 30th birthday and wanted a new creative challenge, but she had zero music background and was balancing a busy career as a fashion designer.
She used our courses to get clear, simple guidance that taught her all the skills she needed from scratch, and she could fit them around her busy lifestyle.
These structured tutorials helped her quickly master basic mixing and build the confidence behind the decks she needed to perform in front of a real crowd for the first time.
With these core skills locked in, she successfully DJed her own birthday party in London. That single celebration ultimately grew into a full Crossfader open-deck event, bringing together other local students to step up and perform.
How Sista Sista Got Ready For Their First Gigs
Tashie grew up inspired by her 80s radio DJ dad but felt too shy to put herself out there, while her sister, Maisie, was always the ultimate festival girl. After a life-changing trip to Burning Man, the sisters finally decided to team up and bring their shared energy to the decks.
However, they quickly realised DJing was way more technical than just loading tracks onto a USB drive, finding themselves completely lost with timing, phrasing, and the layout of Rekordbox.
They turned to our rekordbox courses to cut through the software confusion, using the clear lessons to finally understand how music structure actually works.
After using our platform to build their foundation from scratch, they are now preparing for their very first live gig and competing in Sydney’s Your Shot competition for up-and-coming artists.
