Stanton Join the InMusic Stable

InMusic, the company behind Denon DJ, Rane and Numark has just announced the acquisition of Stanton from Gibson. 

Stanton has a long-standing reputation as a pioneering company within the DJ market. In fact, Stanton was the first company to create replaceable DJ cartridges. Other innovations included the worlds first DVS system and stand-alone DJ controller.

In more recent times, Stanton has produced turntables, mixers and DJ accessories. However, there has been a noticeable lack of new products for quite some time. This stagnation is highlighted by their website and social media accounts which haven’t been updated in years.

It will be interesting to see how Stanton will develop as a brand with the resources InMusic possess. Brands within the company have recently shared common parts to help create better products with lower price tags. This use of shared assets should allow the team at Stanton to develop a whole host of new products and update their existing range. 

InMusic’s advanced research labs and technical development combined with Stanton’s innovation and design will hopefully spur some brilliant new products for the brand. With Technics, Pioneer DJ and Denon all releasing new turntables in the last few years, is now the time for Stanton to update their range of direct drive units?
