Who We Are
Crossfader is here to teach the world to how to DJ. Whether you’re a bedroom DJ, working club DJ, or an artist rocking the festivals already, there is a place for everyone. We aim to help transform you into a more skilful, confident DJ whilst also providing support and a place to network with other DJs.
We’re a UK based company built from a small team of dedicated DJ’s who have worked in the industry for many years. We love music and have a passion for technology in the DJ industry. Our team are constantly experimenting, mixing, scratching and developing their skills.
ONLINE DJ EDUCATION
What We Do
We have product-specific and software specific DJ courses available. They can help you get started and learn core DJ skills or take your skills to the next level by mastering performance techniques! These courses have been designed from years of teaching DJs one to one and understanding the pains and problems you may have when learning new skills.
Our DJ courses also provide access to various tools such as free music download packs, beat matching tools and Crossfader scratching loops. These tools have been designed specifically to help you learn, something you won’t find anywhere else. Our team also creates product reviews to help aid your purchasing decisions and showcase the latest DJ products.
OUR STORY
Where We’ve Been
In the beginning…
It was May 2014, and Jamie Hartley, our founder, decided to rent a run-down office in his hometown. He laid a floor for the first time thanks to YouTube, painted the space and got it in working order. It was just Jamie on a mission to help people.
He used the studio to teach one to one lessons for anybody that wanted to learn. The curriculum he developed aimed to help people avoid all the mistakes he made and teach the fundamental skills people needed to know. It was a course that he wished was available when he first started.
Two years after launching, Crossfader was becoming a very popular place to learn. However, there was so much demand for DJ education and not enough studio space or tutors available locally! This didn’t sit well with Jamie, so that’s how ‘Crossfader – The Online DJ School’ was launched.
Crossfader launches online…
Crossfader has always aimed to inspire, educate and impact as many people as possible around the world. So after working tirelessly for almost a year, the team managed to turn Jamie’s popular DJ curriculum into various online DJ courses that could help people learn to DJ from the comfort of their own homes. Crossfader has now taught over 15 thousand student’s how to DJ and has grown an online following of over 1million subscribers.
We are also fortunate enough to work alongside some of the biggest brands in the DJ market. Our working relationships with Pioneer DJ, Serato, Denon DJ, RANE, Numark and many more allow us to create cutting edge content with the latest tech. We strive to bridge the gap between DJs worldwide and the hardware/software manufacturers, providing a voice and platform for both sides of the industry.
