Serato DJ 2.0 – The 5 Main Updates!

Serato DJ 2.0 has just been released!

Here are the 5 main updates to the new Serato DJ 2.0 software. Not only has it had a name change to Serato DJ Pro but there have been some major changes to the software. In particular it’s build. Read on to find out more or watch the video below…

Serato DJ Pro – The 5 Main Updates

64 Bit Support

The Serato DJ Pro software now harnesses all of your laptop’s processing power. Nearly all new laptop’s and computers run using 64 bit processing but the old Serato DJ was only a 32 bit software. This now means a better performance, faster loading and more stability for us DJs. Great news!!! There is also now virtually no limit to your Serato DJ Pro library size.

Hi Res Display

Serato DJ Pro supports scalable hi res, 4k and UHD displays with the option to turn this on or off in the settings. It really does look a lot sharper and cleaner to use!

Offline 2 Player Mode

It’s been log awaited but you can now practice your mixes and blend’s while preparing your music without any hardware plugged in. 2 players in offline mode is a very welcomed feature and we’re happy to see it implemented in Serato DJ Pro.

Keyboard shortcuts for Serato DJ Pro 2 player offline mode:

Left Deck – W or Space Bar

Right Deck – S or Enter

Auto Loop:

Left Deck – Alt + 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5

Right Deck – Alt + 6, 7, 8, 9, 0

Cntrl + Click to reset Crossfader back in the middle.

Performance Pad Cue Layout Option

It’s a simple one but you can now switch the performance pads to look the same as your controller with two rows of 4. Instead of 2 columns of 4 like in the previous Serato DJ versions. This makes working out which hot cue corresponds to which pad a lot easier.

Help & Support

If you have any issues with the software or need some tips there is a support and tutorial section built in. You can easily use the search tool to find answers within the Serato forum. This is a thoughtful touch from the developers over at Serato.

Our Thoughts…

All in all this is a great update for Serato DJ. We’re glad the focus has been on stability and performance while keeping a very similar layout. This means its the same Serato DJ we all know and love with extra support, better visuals and a new added 2 player offline mode. This means a better experience while preparing your sets as well as a better performance in your live sets. To update to Serato DJ Pro just click here.
