Pioneer DDJ SX3 – Just Announced!
Pioneer DDJ SX3 – Overview
The Pioneer DDJ SX3 is finally here. After months of speculation online, the rumours have been confirmed! Pioneer DJ have upgraded the ever popular SX series of Serato DJ controllers. Read on to find out about its key features and how the Pioneer DDJ SX3 has been upgraded from its predecessor, the SX2.
Not 1, not 2 but 3 mic inputs!
There are now 3 mic inputs on the DDJ SX3. You can control the level, EQ and low-cut filter, and add reverb and compressor to each. You can also enhance performances by applying Sound Color FX such as Echo, plus Serato DJ Pro FX, to the two Mics plugged into the rear panel.
Two USB ports – Ideal for B2B and easy changeover!
Now you can easily connect two laptops at the same time to play B2B or have a backup incase a laptop crashes! Nice touch!
Sound Colour FX
This design has been taken from Pioneer DJs club range. The sound colour FX are a welcomed addition to the DDJ SX3.
Multicoloured Performance Pads
Trigger 11 Serato DJ Pro features including Hot Cues, Sampler and Pitch Play with the large, multicoloured Performance Pads. Watch their colours and illumination change instantly to show the selected pad mode and playing status.
Jog wheels with reduced latency
Aparently the latency has been reduced compared to the DDJ SX2. This means an imporved performance for scratch DJs! Get instant information about the current playback status and position from the illuminating On Jog Display for more precise performances.
Key Related Features via PITCH ‘N TIME DJ (License Included)
This is something that has been taken from the SZ2 and now added to the Pioneer DDJ SX3. Serato Pitch ‘n Time DJ is included so you can use Key Shift, Key Sync, Pitch Play and other advanced features to smoothly and harmonically mix tracks.
Adjust the key of tracks by semitone with Key Shift, and sync the keys of tracks during mixes with Key Sync. Pitch Play lets you trigger your Hot Cues in a range of different keys and assign them to the controller’s Performance Pads so you can play them like a keyboard.
Stand Alone Mixer
You can also use the DDJ-SX3 as a stand-alone DJ mixer without connecting a computer. Connect a range of CDJs or turntables to this controller and use the mixer section as normal!
The Pioneer DDJ SX3 comes in at £969.00 (UK) and is expected to be released on 11th June!
The DDJ SX3 is a nice upgrade for the SX range! We expected to see lots of the problems with the SX2 answered in this release and the added key related features are a nice touch. We’re really glad to see that Pioneer DJ are still fully working with Serato after this release and the SB3 a few months ago!
We will have a complete video review dropping soon so watch this space!
